My role

At Reeta Vickers Recruitment, I specialise in recruiting for digital marketing, creative, and tech industries. But recruitment isn’t just about finding people with the right skills, it’s about cultural fit, longevity, and career satisfaction.

📌 I help businesses hire strategically, for long-term success.

📌 I support candidates in finding roles where they’re valued.

📌 I cut through the hiring nonsense, no mass CV-slinging, no meaningless job placements. Just quality connections that last.

I’ve built my firm around ethical hiring practices, real career development, and genuine partnerships because I believe recruitment should be about people, not numbers.

What made me decide to pursue a job in this field?

Before running my own firm, I worked in both marketing and recruitment. Over time, I saw what worked, what didn’t, and what frustrated people most about the hiring process.

❌ The lack of transparency in hiring.

❌ The toxic work environments that drained top talent.

❌ The mass-market, impersonal approach to recruitment.

So I decided to do things differently.

💡 I built an agency that prioritises ethical hiring, long-term fit, and meaningful relationships, not just placements.

And as a woman in recruitment, I saw the need for more authentic leadership, better support for candidates, and a hiring process that actually works for both sides.

What skills are needed to work in recruitment?

Most would say none. However, recruitment is half strategy, half psychology, you need to understand what both sides truly want.

🔹 Emotional intelligence…..knowing how to read people, businesses, and hiring challenges.

🔹 Strong communication…..you’re not just selling a role; you’re making connections.

🔹 Resilience…..recruitment is fast-paced, competitive, and sometimes unpredictable.

🔹 Adaptability……industries evolve, and staying ahead of trends is key.

🔹 Problem-solving……great recruitment isn’t just matching CVs to job specs; it’s figuring out long-term compatibility.

Highs, Lows and Top Tips:

💎 Biggest High: Seeing candidates thrive months or even years after placement, knowing I helped transform their career trajectory.

⚡ Biggest Low: The early struggle of proving my unique recruitment approach in an industry driven by quick wins.

📢 Top Tip: Recruitment isn’t about filling roles, it’s about building trust, creating longevity, and making a real impact.
