Director of Events

We’re looking for a strategic, experienced, and detail-oriented Director of Event Logistics to lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale B2B exhibitions and trade shows. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless planning, execution, and post-event analysis across a portfolio of domestic and international events.

KEY SKILLS

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, deep expertise in event logistics, supplier and venue management, and the ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to ensure efficient event delivery

  • Lead and manage the operations team, including recruitment, training, and performance development

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and content teams to ensure alignment

  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in operational processes and customer experience

Event Planning & Execution

  • Oversee the full operational lifecycle from venue sourcing and contract negotiation to on-site delivery and post-event reporting

  • Manage budgets, timelines, schedules, health and safety compliance, and risk assessments

  • Lead the development of event floorplans in collaboration with commercial teams

  • Ensure exhibitor and contractor manuals are accurate and distributed on time

  • Coordinate with international stakeholders and logistics providers for overseas events

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with venues, contractors, and other third-party suppliers

  • Ensure service level agreements are met and deliverables are achieved within budget and timelines

  • Oversee contracts and procurement processes for key suppliers

Compliance, Health & Safety

  • Ensure all events meet legal, insurance, licensing, and health and safety requirements

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and maintain compliance documentation

Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Create and manage detailed event budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency and value for money

  • Monitor operational spend and identify opportunities for savings

Technology & Systems

  • Evaluate and implement event tech solutions (e.g., registration systems, floorplan tools, event apps)

  • Streamline internal operations using digital tools to enhance efficiency
